Born to Build
Being recently retired, I now have the time to achieve my lifelong dream of building a car to my own design.
Although I have not had a career related to the automotive sector I have been messing with cars all my life, maintaining & repairing them, welding them up for MOT's as well as restoring a couple of classics along the way. So I have oodles of practical experience and most of the tools and equipment needed to tackle this project.
More recently, I have spent the time just before my retirement sourcing the harder-to-come-by pieces of machinery in readiness for this stage.

Shaping the Future
I have just completed my 1st year as a trainee digital draughtsman, modelling bridge designs in 3D for a variety of projects, including HS2 and the M62 Motorway near Leeds.
So my Dad has co-opted me into providing the technical skills to this project, including scanning & modelling, producing 3D prints for prototype designs, tool dies etc and printing out design drawings for suspension geometry, and the like.
I'm very happy to be involved. It is a great way to apply what I learn at work, in a different discipline, and that should allow me to become a more rounded modeller.
